Early Clay: Pre AI performances
If you've only watched Clay on American Idol, you may think that he was plucked right out of a college classroom. Well that's only half true. From singing in the car with his mom, to performing with the Raleigh Boys Choir, his home church, the North Carolina Theater and in the annual "Pieces of Gold" show that showcased singers from high school choruses across the state, music has always been Clay's first passion. Upon graduating from high school, Clay recorded two demos, Look What Love has Done and Redefined. He sang at weddings, was part of a country band, and hosted his own local variety show in NC.
